Rennes-le-Château and Rennes-les-Bains

  The camping at Rennes-les-Bains has been completely re-vamped in 2014 and is now one of the most elegant campings in the Corbières, having won international awards during their first year.  The energetic owners have given their all to make this camping good for everybody, especially families, who want both privacy and conviviality in garden landscape surroundings.  You will see it sign-posted on the left as you leave Rennes-les-Bains on the Bugarach road, on the other side of the River Sals.

 The camping offers spacious emplacements for everything from the chalets that they let out themselves, to motorhomes, and to the humblest Occitan tent!

    The owner explained the concept further.  They speak several languages and especially welcome English visitors - the owner, his wife here with Jean-Luc and Kris, and their son who works in the office.  Visitors can always find cool and shade here, important in the Languedocian summers.

 
  Everything is provided on the site, (including Wifi), a children's play area and a picnic spot, and dogs are welcome too.  (For those who don't know, Toutou means "doggie" in French.)

 
  "La Bernede" holds many events throughout the summer at reasonable prices, such as barbecues, paella parties, shows by visiting musicians and magicians.  I was so sorry I was just on a brief visit that day  Leaflets were exchanged of course, and this is more of a quality open-air hotel than a camp-site.  Everything was so beautifully done and personable, with a Cathar castle for the children, flowers everywhere and a most handsome weather vane.
